Self
employment means to create job opportunity for one by one’s own effort.
Bangladesh is a populous country and it cannot provide its all people with
employment opportunities. As a result, unemployment problem is very acute in
our country. But self employment can be a proper step towards the solution of
unemployment problem and alleviation of poverty. It can bring about a change in
the fate of a nation. Self employment always teaches a man to stand upon his
own feet on earth. Its importance in individual and national life cannot be
ignored. There is a vital role of self employment in our country. We must
remember that an ounce of work is heavier than that of a ton of talks. The
atmosphere of our country for self employment is not so congenial. A man can
explore his quantities, capacities and qualifications for formulating scopes of
employment. Fishery, pisciculture, dairy, poultry raising, vegetable
cultivation, flower cultivation are some of the scopes of self employment.
Nowadays even educated young people are opening up forms. There are a number of
organizations that provide loans for self employment. Our government may manage
loan and training for our people. Our young generations may be awarded of the
benefits of self employment. Mass media can play a vital role in this regard.
